To ensure that every upgrade Gameball applies leaves a great impact on our customers' businesses; collecting, analyzing data, or in other words, being data-driven has been the main focus and of high importance to Gameball team during this past year. This month's updates are all influenced by the data we gathered.
What's new this month?
Announcement Banner: A New Messages Format
As you know, you can create a message that is triggered by certain player actions. The style of messages that you could choose from was either a toast or a popup with some optional tweaks like the size of the toast or adding confetti to the popup message. We realize that those are not enough options to choose from. This is why we added an announcement banner as a new message format to the group of messages for an in-style notification on your platform.
The things you can do with banners are endless! Here are some examples of what you can announce using banners:
- New collection releases
- Special offers on certain products
- Promotion codes
- Ask your guests to signup
- Or simply wish your visitors a happy holiday!
Announcements banners come in two styles:
- Floating
- Inline
You could choose that the banner message shows up on the top or the bottom of the page, and of course, a color that goes with your platform. Not only that! You can add an icon or a GIF that shows right at the beginning of the message to captivate the eyes.
Here is how an inline message banner on the top looks like on a website:

Pending Points During Return Window
You no longer have to worry about the complications that come with a customer returning an order. Gameball now allows you to put a time gap between the day a customer places an order and the day they receive their points reward for that purchase.
You have up to 90 days to set as a return window through your cashback program page. Once you specify the return window and customers start placing orders, you will be able to see the active points (points that can be redeemed by players) and pending points (points that are not redeemable yet due to the active return window) in your players tab, program achievement tab, points transaction tab, and even the player's profile page. This will also reflect on your analytics section so you can keep track of both active and pending points.

Fixed Discount: New Redemption/Referral Rule
Flat rate discounts, percentage-based discounts, free products, free shipping are all examples of redemption rules that Gameball already offers and can be applied as a referral reward as well. As per your request, we have added one more redemption rule that we know you need.
How does a fixed discount work? The answer is simple. You decide how much you want to offer in exchange for a certain amount of points. For example, you can offer a $15 coupon to be redeemed for 1000 points, and another $20 coupon for 1200 points, and so on. The options are limitless!
How is a fixed discount different from a flat rate discount? It's quite different. With a flat-rate discount, you need to give a monetary value for every 1 point a player could redeem, which means they will be redeeming the same value for points no matter how many points they're exchanging. With fixed discounts, you don't have to stick with that rule. You can basically create endless coupons; each coupon could offer a different monetary value per point.
Here's how to create a fixed discount.
Inline Links, Italic, and Bold Fonts in Messages
In a quest to make your messages look more appealing and grab more attention, we've made sure that you're able to apply some tweaks to a message you're creating. You can add the following to some parts or all your message:
Inline links: You can insert URLs to some part of your message if, for example, you want to redirect your reader to a certain product page for them to check out, or maybe redirect your guests to the sign-up page for email registration, and so on.
Italic: Draw attention to a particular part of your message using this font.
Bold text: You can bold words or sentences in your message for emphasizing or maybe to grab your reader's attention to a certain word.
Explore these new options while creating a message through the messages page.
Assign Player Tags to Redemption Rules
While creating an extra redemption rule, you can choose that this rule is visible and used only by a specific group of players. For example, you can create a redemption rule where a player can get free shipping in exchange for some of their points, however, this coupon will only appear on the widget of players who share the same tag that was previously applied to them by you.

Players Can Unsubscribe from Email Notifications
A few months ago, we have made it an option for you to unsubscribe from our announcement emails or at least change the frequency to how often you want to receive them. Now, we're giving your customers that option too!
If you're using our email notification feature to send players every time they engage in any of your programs and win a reward, you maybe want to make sure that customers who get annoyed by these emails are able to unsubscribe. The good news is..you don't need to do anything from your end. All the player needs to do is to click the word "unsubscribe" from the bottom of the email and voila!
Note: if you have multiple platforms/shops, and a customer unsubscribed from an email coming from one of these platforms, they're still subscribed to your other platforms' emails.
As always, stay tuned for our monthly updates as more exciting updates are in the works. We are trying hard to always enhance our experience and fulfill all your requests and needs.
